Tracy Black is Sr. Vice President of Information Technology for J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Utilizing an integrated, multimodal approach, the Company provides capacity-oriented solutions centered on delivering customer value and industry-leading service to a diverse group of customers throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico.

Hunt’s Information Technology Department is responsible for selecting and implementing technical solutions that improve internal operations, optimize supply chains, and provide better distribution solutions to our customers.   The IT team is made up of approximately 360 people servicing over 17,000 employees and supporting approximately 300 remote sites.   The Department has received numerous technical recognitions from Computer World, Network World, VICS and Information Week and has been very highly rated as a “Top Place to Work in IT” for the past several years.  

Tracy graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Arkansas where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Degree with a minor in mathematics.   Following graduation, Tracy worked for ABF designing and developing LTL rating systems.  Tracy began her career with J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., in 1988.  She is currently serving as Sr. Vice President of Information Technology supporting software development for all business units at Hunt.  In 2007, Tracy was named one of Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT leaders. In 2008 Tracy’s teams received the Information on Demand Innovation Award from IBM, the Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award from AIIM, and were named finalist for the Computerworld Best Practices in Mobile and Wireless award. Tracy has served as the Chair of the NWA Network of Executive Women and led the effort to establish a mentoring program at J.B. Hunt.
