What is a cookie?
A cookie is a very small text file placed on your hard drive by a web server. It is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you.

How do I enable cookies?
If you're using Internet Explorer 6.0:
  • Choose Tools, then
  • Internet Options.
  • Click the Privacy tab,
  • Default setting is medium. Move the slider to determine which setting you prefer.
  • You can also click on Advanced for specialized cookie treatment.
If you're using Internet Explorer 5.0:
  • Choose Tools, then
  • Internet Options.
  • Click the Security tab,
  • Click Internet, then Custom Level.
  • Scroll down to Cookies and choose one of the two options.
If you're using Netscape 7.x or Netscape 6.x:
  • Click Edit on the Toolbar.
  • Click Preferences
  • Click the Privacy and Security category; expand the list to show the subcategories.
  • Click Cookies
  • Three options are displayed. Click "Enable cookies for the originating web site only"
If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.x:
  • Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  • Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
  • Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
  • Click "OK".
If you're using AOL 8.0:
  • From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  • Select Preferences
  • Select Internet Properties (WWW)
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Select Advanced
  • Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  • Click OK to exit.
